Arroz con Habichuelas is a traditional Dominican rice and beans dish usually served with La Bandera dish.

Ingredients List:
- 2 Cups Long Grain Rice
- 1 Cup Ham, Diced
- 3 TBSP Tomato Sauce
- 3 TBSP Sofrito
- 2 tsp Adobo Seasoning
- 2 tsp Complete Seasoning
- 1/2 Cup VegetableOil
- 3 Cups Water
- 1/2 Cup Stuffed Olives, Diced
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 Can Pinto Beans
Preparation:
Sauté ham and a little bit of olive oil.
Add sofrito, tomato sauce, a pinch of salt, garlic, adobo and complete seasoning. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
Add beans and 3 cups of hot water to the pot, turn the heat to low. Pour the rice into the mixture when it is just begins to bubble, not boiling.
Cook for until the water just begins to bubble over the rice, about 25 minutes. After most of the water has dried up, stir until everything is incorporated, cover the pot and lower the heat to low. Cook for 15 more minutes.
Serve hot. Delicious with La Bandera.
