Fish
1 lb Tilapia Fillets or Any Other Lean White Fish - 2 TBSP Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Salt & Pepper to Taste
- 8 White Corn Tortillas
Fish Taco Sauce
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
- 1/3 Cup Mayonnaise
- Juice of 1/2 Lime
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt to Taste
- 1 tsp Hot Sauce
Fish Taco Toppings
- 1 Avocado, Sliced
- 1/4 Small Purple Cabbage, Shredded
- 1/2 Small Red Onion, Diced
- 1 Tomato, Diced
- Cotija Cheese, Grated
- Fresh Cilantro, Optional
- Lime Wedges for Serving
Preparation:
Fish Preparation
Season the fish with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a small bowl whisk together the oil, cumin, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic and lime juice.
Add fish to a large ziplock bag and pour the marinade over fish. Seal bag and allow fish to marinade for 30 minutes.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Brush grill grates with oil and grill fish filets for about 4 minutes on each side, flipping only once.
Fish Taco Sauce
Combine all Taco sauce ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk together until well blended.
Taco Sauce can be made a few days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
Serve in a squeeze bottle.
To Serve the Fish Taco
After allowing the fish to rest gently break into pieces.
Warm tortillas on the grill for about 15 seconds on each side.
To build your taco, start with pieces of fish, then add remaining ingredients, finishing with cotija cheese and finally taco sauce.
Serve with a fresh lime wedge to squeeze over tacos.
