Sándwich de Milanesa is a very popular Argentinian sandwich also eaten in Uruguay. It is similar to an American Hero or Submarine sandwich. It's ingredients usually include lettuce, tomato, onions with either breaded chicken or breaded steak served on a long sliced roll of bread.

Ingredients List:
- 4 Thinly Sliced Top Round Steaks
- 1 Cup Flour
- 1 1/4 cups Dry Bread Crumbs
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Oregano
- Salt & Pepper to Taste
- 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 4 Large Crusty Rolls
- 1 Tomato, Sliced
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Romaine Lettuce
- Lime Wedges
- Hot Sauce, Optional
Preparation:
Place the eggs in a shallow bowl and whisk them together with the oregano and some salt and pepper.
Mix the parmesan cheese and garlic into the bread crumbs and place them in another shallow pan.
Put flour into a dish and season with salt and pepper.
Dip the steak in flour, then the eggs, then the bread crumbs. Repeat with remaining steaks and let them rest for 10-20 minutes.
Once thoroughly heated, fry cutlets until golden on each side. Adjust the heat as needed. Fry the cutlets in batches to prevent overcrowding. Drain steaks on paper towels.
Slice the rolls in half lengthwise. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the roll. Cover with romaine lettuce, cooked cutlets and sliced tomato. Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce (optional).
